Easter Reading: Whispers Of New Creation
Along with the Good Friday responsive reading in the previous post, I want to add (in the spirit of mentor George Herbert), a new reading I’ve written for Easter.
WHISPERS OF NEW CREATION
Dan Wilt
We hear a voice, now sweet, now strong,
Now fading into days to come
Compelling us to listen.
It lingers in the fragrant flow’r
It solos in the songs of wind
Restraining us from movement.
It writhes and twists within our souls
And groans for freedom’s everlife
To dance with new creation.
It whispers from an age ahead
It stirs our hopes and haunts our dreams
Inviting us to listen.
It speaks of death and hate and harm
Confronted by a love more firm
A life more everlasting
It speaks of veils now torn in two
No separations yet to come
No walls to keep us distant
It speaks of life beyond our times
It sings that we will live beyond
And wake to see perfection
It speaks of peace between us all
It speaks of eden’s garden walk
In everlasting union
We hear a voice, now sweet, now strong,
Now fading into days to come
Compelling us to listen.

FutureDay: ChristFaith Cathedral
“As the ArchBishop comes forward, we will sing together a song from the 21st century, entitled Come, Now Is The Time To Worship, which will be followed by the Eucharist.
We will celebrate this in the ancient Orthodox tradition, led by Mrs. Simungu Simposi, the residing Patriarch of the African League.
Her Holiness and the other EcclesiaLeague Patriarchs will then facilitate a time of prayer for those in North America suffering under the pain of the mass starvations in that land, after which we will collect the gift brought from each EcclesiaLeague member as our physical act of living prayer toward our human family on that continent.
Following this, refreshments will be served in the ChristFaith Cathedral sanctuary. Michelangelo’s La Pieta, from St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome, will then pass to the next EcclesiaLeague member, the Asian League, for the customary 3 years at a ceremony following.
The Patriarch Of The EuroIrish League, along with the ArchBishop Of Rome will preside.”
FutureDay: “Full-Time Ministry”
“This morning, we’d like to welcome all those, and only those, in full-time ministry to come to the middle for prayer. We’ll call just a few of you specifically:
Mothers, Television Producers, Graphic Designers, Fathers, Garbage Collectors, Neighbors, Country Songwriters, Fourth Grade Teachers, Roofers, Novelists, Journalists, Web Guru’s, Bloggers, Rugby Coaches and the guy who owns the skateboard shop down on Rupner Ave. — to name a few.
Thanks for regarding all ground as holy, if it’s underneath your feet. Let’s pray.”
