A thought for the believing innovator.
Between the new iPhone, and the new Apple TV, the JobsClan certainly are often the first out of the gate (i.e. the first to present attractive technologies in accessible manners from behind secret doors) shaping the face of pop culture.
Fascinating. I’d love to see more believing men and women at the wheel driving well-resourced, highly innovative technological advancements, along with rehumanizing ideas, into the heart of the zeitgeist.
I don’t want to see that reality as a novelty or as just another example of a “Christian person we can point out as unique and inspiring;” but rather as an example of those who bear the thought that innovation/culturally-shaping achievement is “just the way those who follow the way of Jesus do life.”
Doing things lovingly, and well, and powerfully – could that be a resuscitating creational theology that embraces the high view of the human person God seems to hold?
I think I’m in love. Presents from here are most welcome, if you’re in the mood to send something quirky to a guy named Dan….

Has anyone used the Korg TR88 board, and digs it?
The Korg Trinity is too much board, as may be the LE, but the price is right on this one. We need one for the Institute, and I’m needing to get a solid, weighted-key board (love to know how it feels - the keyboard) with plenty of sounds for live bands.
Issue is, I live in little St. Stephen’s (a musician’s haven, but with one small music store!), and I have to drive 1.5 hours to get close enough to try one. I’d get by with a little help from my friends….
Hey friends. I’m so sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted; we’ve been on vacation in the US, and I’ve been tech-locked* out of my blog for the past two weeks.
I got this post up using a circuitous route. Will be up and posting asap this week.
* tech-locked is a term meaning, “snafooed upon, snaggled by, sniptuppered within a technical issue that cannot be resolved by anyone with your own skill or knowledge base in the tech arena in which you are befuddled.”

Friends,
I’ll soon be able to launch a full-blooded, full-bodied podcast here, within the next few weeks, thanks to Apple’s new iLife.
Their iWeb is fantastic, integrates seamlessly with Garage Band, and sets everyman and everywoman to easily create podcasts and much more.
Only issue I can see is some slow upload (or poor compression) on the images you drag in.
Other than that, I’m astounded at how Apple – though it wants your money like every other computer company – continues to aim right for the felt need brooding in the heart of its logically loyal customers.
I’ll pay for that, and use it to amplify communication across the global landscape that is the web.
No, I don’t advertise for Apple. I’m just sold on something in a market that continually takes from us all. Steve Jobs does a Keynote at the MacWorld Expo that demos all of it, and its pretty incredible.
Further to the emerging worship trends activity, and the buzzing post below, EnhanceWorship.com was kind enough to send me a beta version to be a tester for their Mac OSX app (Tiger). Thanks guys. That’s better than a t-shirt. They also do a PC version.
So far, I’m really thrilled with what I see in EnhanceWorship’s package, and Vineyard Records UK is behind them, too. I see no one else is working so hard to create software that aids the Apple-based worship leader – especially those who want their initial database full of a mix of Vineyard, Soul Survivor and Passion songs. I do believe that’s where they’re headed, to include all of those contemporary song resources.
Way to go, guys.
Now, WorshipConnect.com is still there and in the running, doing a web-based worship leader tool, and I love what I see. Their look is great, and all the functionalities that SongBase (only catering to PC users at this point) and others have put in are promised to be there but I’m waiting to hear from them how soon they’ll release their finished product.
I’ll keep you posted, Apple friends.
For those who love the tech end of the world, the new iLife 2006 has just been released, and it seems to answer all the questions every Mac user has had about user friendly Podcasting, Web sites, Design layout, etc.
As a cyber-child of the Apple-ilk, I’m grateful as I feed the industry the plastic food it craves.
On occasion we pause this blog on emerging worship to bring you a public service announcement.
Apple will replace an iPod whose battery has died for $59.95 + $6.95 shipping.
It will either be a new iPod they send, or a refurbished one (which will be better than what you have at the non-working moment).
The recall on the batteries only yields a $50.00 Apple Store certificate, and I believe that certificate is only good for store purchases (not support). I’m still waiting on mine.

Hokey dinah. I’m not hiding it anymore. I love Apple.
