This is an excellent article on resurrection by good friend and respected New Testament scholar Peter Davids (who, with his wife Judy, now live here in St. Stephen).

You won’t want to miss this one. I think it’s important in furthering a Christology (what you believe about Christ) that is fully-scoped, and not simply cross-focused (vital as a vibrant understanding of Jesus’ sacrifice is to our faith).

Thank you for writing this, Peter. I believe this is one of the theological “recoveries” we are desperately needing to embrace in the emerging church conversation.

Hey Dan thanks for this link. Drop me a line to connect for lunch, Garth

  2. Indeed, Garth. Let me get our students out the door for Christmas, and next week let’s do it.

  3. I’m VERY committed to the resurrection of the dead. Watch me prove it (in about 40 years I hope)!

My experience with funerals is that most families aren’t interested in theology but in sharing this last passage with people who care.

I also had no idea that not talking about a particular doctrine in a particular context meant we don’t believe it anymore.
