The Love Of God Revealed
Dan Wilt

(lyrics only)

From the dust of time eternal,

From the breath of Heav’ns Adored;

Rose the man amid creation,

Rose the woman at his side;

Singing “Praise, praise to the Father,

And the covenant He brings,”

Then the weeping, then the groaning

For the Love of God revealed

From the lips of prophet sages,

In the streets of chosen land;

Came the words of sweet redemption,

To the woman and the man;

Singing “Life, Life is the ransom,

And the only healing stream,”

Then the beating, then the scorning,

Of the Love of God revealed.

From within Death’s shadowed chambers,

Came a whispered melody,

As the Father’s life and freedom,

Stirred within the Lord asleep,

Singing “Rise, rise from the ashes,

And destroy the ancient foe,”

With the keys of death and dying,

Rose the Love of God revealed

Now the earth has seen its folly,

Fallen back upon its head,

And the heav’ns have reeled with glory;

As her chosen are prepared,

Singing “Hope, hope is the anthem,

And the anchor for the soul,”

As the Spirit e’er renews us,

With the Love of God revealed

Soon the eyes of all the ages,

Will behold the risen Son;

As the King of vast creation,

Calls His chosen to His side;

Singing “Praise, praise to the Father,

And the covenant He sealed,”

Come you sons and come you daughters,

To the Love of God revealed.

Come you sons and come you daughters,

to the Love of God revealed.

  1. Dude.

    Unbe-freaking-lievable.

    Did Getty inspire you, or something?

    Music please.

  2. That’s kind of you gents. This, actually, is what I love to do the most – write modern hymn lyrics/prosaic writing with melodies.

    I’ll post the melody later. I’m still working on the lyrics – working toward keeping it to four verses.

    Many more where that came from.

    Geat Dan…didn’t know you had it in you…I seen God in you way back when in highschool, just a knowing. Be blessed.

  4. I’m a fan, Dan! I found some poetic and rich hymns myself. I think you would appreciate them! http://www.newoldhymns.com
