I appreciate the “Church in tension” cartoons Dan Kimball has posted on his site, questioning who is actually cutting themselves off from reality – those who contend they have everything figured out, or those who contend that too much of church doctrine is up for grabs.

I guess that’s another reason why I align myself with the Vineyard clan.I’m wanting to not spend to much time drawing more & more distinct lines that separate the ‘old & new’..I dunno..

You’re probably right.
Which is precisely why, I think all new believers who begin swimming in the Vineyard stream of Christianity, should be required to read The Quest for The Radical Middle.

Nothing like reviewing what the whole thing started out as , and what the ‘founders’ valued.
I tend to think our DNA can span generations/cultures/language/EMERGENT/hardboiled/race/church modes..
heck, I’m willing to bet a church that incorporates a dulcimer in worship can grab hold of this thing….
