Georgia In The Summertime

I leave tomorrow morning for a brief trip to Georgia, for a gathering of worship leaders and musicians from our Vineyard community there.

GreatHeart Mike O’Brien and others have pulled this regional gathering of our VineyardSoutheast USA regional worship community together (Vineyard Southeast Worship Community), and it will be a privilege to speak and lead worship among these ChangeTheWorld’ers.

I’ll try to blog during the event as well, to let you know all that’s happening. I’ll be doing main sessions on What Is Worship? (a reformation of our worship worldview), and The Elemental Leader (an exploration of spiritual formation and the heart of the creative leader), and filling in with some workshops.

I’ll also be giving away some free resource media CDs and other things letting the guys know about the Institute and our passion to form creative leaders by equipping them with study in worship ideas Past, Present and Future.

It’ll be a blast, and I look forward to seeing a gaggle of good friends there from our wider fam.

Sheltering Mercy and Endless Grace help us rediscover the rich treasures of the Psalms—through free-verse prayer renderings of their poems and hymns—as a guide to personal devotion and meditation. Sheltering Mercy helps the reader pray Psalms 1-75; Endless Grace leads in prayer through Psalms 76-150.

The church has always used the Psalms as part of its prayer life, and they have inspired countless other prayers. Each book contains 75 prayers drawn from the Book of Psalms, providing lyrical sketches of what authors Ryan Smith and Dan Wilt have seen, heard, and felt while sojourning there. Each prayer is a response to the Psalms written in harmony with Scripture. These prayers help us quiet our hearts before God and welcome us into a safe place amid the storms of life.

These artful, poetic, and classic devotional books are a perfect gift, and feature compelling stunning illustrations and hardcover binding, offering a fresh way to reflect on and pray the Psalms. Co-written with Ryan Whitaker Smith, Brazos Publishing.
