Institute Of Contemporary & Emerging Worship Studies 2007

Just as we’re about to begin our 2006 Certificate Intensive program at the Institute, we’re announcing our 2007 dates for our 2-week Certificate, 1 year Diploma and 3 year module Masters Degrees!

Our next program coming up is our Spring North American Intensive, April 23 – May 4, 2007.

Space is limited as we try to keep our classes intimate and conversational, so if you’re interested, let me know right away.

An application can be downloaded at: Two-week Intensive Certificate Program in Worship Studies & Spiritual Formation, and details are at the site.

P.S. This year, we have 16 students in our Institute Programs (for our first year of launch!) with worship leaders from the UK, US, Canada, Brazil and Germany. Brian Doerksen will be a guest teacher with us as well.

Most roll in Sunday afternoon, so I may not post for a few days as we wrap up prep and get started. I’ll try to give a play by play as I can.

Sheltering Mercy: Prayers Inspired by the Psalms

Sheltering Mercy, along with its companion volume, Endless Grace, helps us rediscover the rich treasures of the Psalms—through free-verse prayer renderings of their poems and hymns—as a guide to personal devotion and meditation.

The church has always used the Psalms as part of its prayer life, and they have inspired countless other prayers. This book contains 75 prayers drawn from Psalms 1-75, providing lyrical sketches of what authors Ryan Smith and Dan Wilt have seen, heard, and felt while sojourning in the Psalms. Each prayer is a response to the Psalms written in harmony with Scripture. These prayers help us quiet our hearts before God and welcome us into a safe place amid the storms of life.

This artful, poetic, and classic devotional book features compelling custom illustrations and foil-stamped hardcover binding, offering a fresh way to reflect on and pray the Psalms.
